I am a African American Queer Woman who because of a history of childhood and adulthood abuse struggled with repeated codependent relationships. I would lose my identity in my partner’s needs and wants, and be afraid to establish healthy boundaries. I became lost and confused of who I was as a person, and started to question my purpose in life and my worth as a person. But, with the help of therapists like myself, I now know my worth…I now know my purpose is to help other women learn to have healthy relationships and healthy boundaries so that they don’t lost their identity in the relationships. Because I have been in your shoes, I understand what you are going through. I understand the uncertainty and the fear associated with finally accepting that you need help; then, taking the steps to actually talk to someone. It is not a easy thing to do. But I do know that once you start to address the pain and hurt that is a part of your life story, you can begin to work on writing a new chapter where you know your value, can embrace your imperfections, and love yourself.

“Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.” - Brené Brown

My desire is to help you stop running and stand strong in your vulnerability as you finally face the darkness of your past and let.it.go! Only then can you be free to walk in your life’s purpose. My goal is to illuminate your way through the darkness and instill in you hope. It is important for you to believe that your life has purpose. Together we will work to do the following:

Explore your life story

Set goals to get you life you imagine

Discover your strengths

Learn new skills & strategies to overcome the shame, guilt, sadness, & anger

All I ask of you is to show up, trust me enough to be honest, and allow me to walk alongside you on this healing journey.

“Sometimes the bravest and most important thing you can do is just show up.” - Brené Brown
